Stop motion animation use a series of images, sequenced together and run back to create an illusion of movement.
T
he objects need to be manipulated/moved in front of the camera and then a photo is taken. It creates an illusion of movement.

Stop-Motion Animation vs. Time-lapse Photography
Stop-motion and time-lapse videos are very similar in that they both use a series of images, sequenced together and played backed to create illusion of movement.
In time-lapse photography, the camera is set up and a timer is set to take pictures every_____
secs
of what is happening in front of the camera.
This is different then stop-motion, because the artists have to pause, manipulate the material in front of a camera and control when the photo is taken.

lapse example:

Stop-Motion Animation Tips
Object
Moves in small increments
1 second of video = 10 still shots (10 is at the higher end, can be fewer depending on the speed you playback the video)
The more shots you have the more your video will flow.
Consider moving different parts of the object to make it more life-like than inanimate.
Camera/Setting
Have the camera still in one place, perhaps a partner can hold the camera and take the photosSlide7
