Case Reports on Patients with Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Responding to Ozone Therapy Ruba Kello 1, Mohamed Muhanad Badawi 2 1,2 Ozone Supportive Therapy Clinic, Aleppo, Syria. In the context of the Syrian crisis the cutaneous leish maniasis form caused by L. tropical is the most important in terms of risk of being introduced in neighbouring countries. It also presents more treatment failures (up to 20% of cases may become chronic). So, more work needs to be done in this area. This report focuses on three cases in Aleppo with cutaneous Leishmaniasis (CL), different for sex and age, it shows the effectiveness of oxygen - ozone therapy by using two different modalities of ozone administration. All the cases presented are healed. Cas e (A): A 65 - years - old woman shows on the right elbow the clinical signs (skin lesions/sore) of CL, diagnosis is confirmed parasitologically. She was treated with intralesional Glucantime® for eight weeks but that was useless. So, We isolated the infected b ody part by surrounding it with a bag and introduced oxygen - ozone gas at suitable concentrations for suitable time (20minutes) three times per week for 4 months. Case (B):A 53 - years - old man shows on the right wrist the clinical signs (skin lesions/sore) o f CL, diagnosis was confirmed parasitologically. He did not treat with Glucantime® or any other medication. We apply the same treatment in case (A) but in different concentrations and for only 2 months. Recent Publication: 1.
