4. Collaborative WorkingTwo points of contact within the school means that between us it takes the pressure off one person. There are two people checking emails and opportunities that the school could engage with.Between two people it also means that we can support each other with events in school and the organisation of programmes which is an easier balance when juggling teaching timetables as well.

5. How do ensure all students benefit from Make Happen activity? We have found that Carrie will focus on the activities that will benefit the main school years 9 – 11 students. I look at things that impact our sixth form students as I have a careers focus in school it links in well with the Make Happen programme. Any opportunities that are available are advertised to parents and students via:The schools internal messaging system (EduLink) weekly parental bulletins Weekly student bulletin in sixth form / tutor messagesEnd of Term NewslettersSchool’s Social Media Pages Programmes which link to other subjects – for example the STEM lego days we have contacted the schools STEM coordinator to make them aware and then supported in the organisation of the event even though they maybe overseeing the students on the day. Directing subject specific events to departments / staff with relevant roles has meant that support from subject / knowledge of the Make Happen programme has been higher amongst staff at the school. Following Make Happen on social media (FB) has also helped as again this is another way in the evening that upcoming events / programmes that our students could engage with are advertised – I screen shot / email the posts to myself to remind me to look at what they involve.

6. Organisation We have weekly meetings to ensure that we have time to go over any new opportunities, check on the running of events that students are involved in and to look at how we can utilise the funding to support the students in the best way. We log into the Make Happen website and check updates in these meetings too. The schools outreach officer (Hannah) also plays a big part in how we have been able to engage so well with Make Happen this year. Hannah has met with us a few times via MS Teams (once a term) giving us updates on what is available and we are able to email her and ask questions.
