Where do the rivers get their water from?The Tigris and Euphrates, form a major river system in western Asia, from rivers in the Taurus mountains of eastern turkey, they go by/through Syria through Iraq into the Persian Gulf. The system is part of the Palearctic Tigris-Euphrates ecoregion, which includes Iraq Saudi, Arabia, Kuwait, and Jordan. Slide4
Where do they start and endThe Tigris is one of the two most important rivers of Mesopotamia or to this day Iraq. The Tigris is the river located to the east(toward Persia)(to this day Iran); the Euphrates, to the west. The Tigris runs from Lake Hazer, in the Taurus mountains, in Turkey to join the Euphrates, and runs into the Persian Gulf.
The Euphrates is the river on the west. The Euphrates is formed from the Karasu and the Marut rivers in the high Armenian Plateau, the river flows through the Taurus mountains, then crosses into Syria at carchesim, then connects with the Tigris and flows into the Persian Gul.f Slide5
Why were the rivers significant to the fertile crecentAfter moving to the plains the Sumerians had water and land for farming, but there was new hardships. One of the major obstacles was that the water supply was uncontrollable. But, it certainly was good to have water, though the river had flooded.

ConclusionI learned that the lack of water that the rivers get is not sufficient and that that’s why they are considered exotic. I also learned that the rivers and the fertile crescent was very helpful to the summerians.Slide7
