Company has

corporate headquarters in Lexington, KY and plant operations in Paducah, KY and Portsmouth, OHComprised of Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Group (B&WTSG), a wholly owned subsidiary of Babcock & Wilcox and URS Energy and Construction, a subsidiary of URS. Accomplishments

Deactivation and Environmental Remediation

Drained, packaged, and shipped lube oil from process buildings some of which will be reused as a cleaning agent.

Drained, packaged, and shipped PCB transformer oil from 66 process buildings PCB Transformers.

Began removal of R-114 refrigerant from the gaseous diffusion plant for safer deposit removal activities.Initiated the Deactivation of the C-400 facilities.Ten systems that will remove uranium deposits from the gaseous diffusion plant, the first of their kind, are on site.Completed D&D of 11 facilities to support footprint reduction.Completed SWMU 1 deep soil mixing to remove TCE contamination from soil. Slide8

Fissile Deinventory

Developed program to handle fissile material as part of the fissile

deinventory

project.

Over 100 people were trained to safely remove fissile material in facilities that have ceased operations.Almost 230 pieces of fissile waste from the C-720 Maintenance and Stores building have been removed. 162 total containers of waste have been generated.Slide9

Waste Generation

The lube oil removal project has shipped 995 tons of waste offsite in tanker trucks.

A total of 1015 tons of PCB oil from PCB transformers have been remove and shipped offsite in containers.

C-400 Wastes being loaded into rail-cars

and awaiting shipments to Clive, UT.Removal of theses wastes are crucial to moving forward with future D&D activities.ContainersVolume (ft3)
