Company Situation
Implemented JD Edwards 8.0 in 2002. Decided to upgrade to 9.1 for multiple reasons –
Support expiryOptimize internal and external customer facing processes
Outdated and inefficient processes
Modifications
requiring maintenance and perpetuating poor processes
Loss of core systems knowledge
Complacency with status quo
No formal process documentation, ongoing training, or user procedures
Process improvement or process rationalization void
Finance
driven ERP environment with little input from operations or
HR
Desire for enhanced reporting capabilities (e.g. OVR)Slide11

Things to Keep in Mind on Projects
U
tilizing OVR
OVR Implementations
Start the communication and training early and review it multiple times
Allows users to see the value and start to learn the new tools
Leverage E1 Pages to provide access and Advanced Queries to identify data sets, for OVR
Identify a group of super users who will become adept at creating new OVR reportsE
nsure a cross section by functional area
These users can train their peers as needs come up in the future
Leverage OVR on standard applications, as well as the OVR apps
Utilize OVR to eliminate customizations – added fields on forms, new apps to display data, etc…
Identify Advanced Queries, Watchlists and OVR reports that are useful to multiple employees ….. and publish them
Leverage the standard OVR reports to create new ones specific to your needs
Don’t recreate the wheel
Each OVR app has multiple reports – if they aren't exactly what you need, create a copy and modify as neededSlide24
