Changes to School Grades 14-15 and BeyondThe school grade is based on the percentage of total points earned. All grades will be released every Summer Provisions that may raise or lower a school’s grade beyond what the percentage of points would indicate are eliminated (no additional requirements; no additional weights/bonus; no automatic adjustments) The Graduation Rate and College and Career components are laggedThe Middle School Acceleration component includes lagged data for industry certification results Slide3

English Language Arts(ELA) ProficiencyNumeratorAll students (from the denominator) who earn 3+ on the FSA ELA or FSAA ELA DenominatorAll students in membership in both FTEs at the school in grades 3-10Special Notes All ELL < 2 years removed from computation Slide4

Mathematics ProficiencyNumeratorAll students (from the denominator) earning 3+ on the FSA Math, FSAA Mathematics, Algebra 1 EOC, Geometry EOC or Algebra 2 EOCDenominatorAll students in membership in both FTE at the school and: in grades 3-8 OR enrolled in the Algebra 1, Geometry, or Algebra 2 EOCs for the first timeSpecial Notes All ELL < 2 years removed from computation Note, enrolled for the first time in the Math EOCs pertains to high schools. For middle schools, a student who re-enrolls (due to failing the EOC) will be counted Students who take more than one Mathematics EOC ( Algebra or Geometry) in the school year will have the highest score included. But this does not include retakers. Slide5

Middle School AccelerationNumeratorAll students (from the denominator) earning 3+ on the Algebra 1 EOC, Geometry EOC, Biology EOC or on an Industry Certification (lagged) DenominatorAll students in membership in both FTE at the school and: In grade 8 who scored a 3+ on a 7th grade Mathematics statewide standardized test (FSA Math, Algebra or Geometry) in the prior year, OR Any student enrolled in an EOC course (Algebra, Geometry or Biology) OR Any student who took an IC in the prior year (lagged) Special Notes

Students who take more than one EOC (ex: Geometry and Biology) in the school year will have the highest score included. Slide6

Social Studies ProficiencyNumeratorAll students (from the denominato) earning 3+ on the Civics or US History EOC DenominatorAll students in membership in both FTEs at the school and: Enrolled in the Civics or US History course for the first time or Any student enrolled in the AP US History course that took the US History EOC Special Notes All ELL < 2 years removed from computation Slide7

Science ProficiencyNumeratorAll students (from the denominator) earning 3+ on the FCAT 2.0 Science, FSAA Science or Biology EOC DenominatorAll students in membership in both FTEs at the school and:In grades 5 and/or 8 or Enrolled in the Biology EOC for the first timeSpecial Notes All ELL < 2 years removed from computation Slide8

High School College and Career Acceleration Lagged ComponentNumerator: Any graduate from the graduating cohort who while in high school ( 4 years) had a score that makes them eligible to earn college credit. Included are: AP IB AICEDual Enrollment CAPE IC or CAPE IC in the Funding List If student earns credit (passes) more than one accelerated course in the four years, they

only count once Denominator: GRADUATES from the Graduating Cohort Special Notes Industry certifications earned in middle school DO NOT Count for this indicatorSlide9

Learning Gains (DRAFT - without FLDOE confirmation)How to earn a learning gain:1. Improve a level ( 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5) or remain within level 5-52. Remain within levels 3-3 or 4-4 but improve the scale score by at least one point (from the bottom of the next grade level)3. Remain within levels 1-1 and 2-2 but, advance one subcategory in scale range Special Notes ALL Students are included in the learning gains components ( ELA, Math, Low 25)Slide10
