2. 21/08/2021 – The FallOn holiday in Cornwall – fell and gave myself concussion Woke up and thought I had had a stroke Didn’t have proper functioning of my arms Headache Face really hurt Couldn’t walk properlyWent to Plymouth Hospital DISASTER!Came home to Lincoln

3. It got worse… Concussion symptoms got better but I continued to get worseWent to Lincoln hospital Over time I noticed:Increased levels of numbness in left side of my body including genitals and anus Increased pain and feeling of pins and needlesIncreased urgency of needing to empty bladder and bowels Less dexterity in my left handDragging my left leg Losing my balance very easily, especially when my eyes were closed

4. QMC hospitalWent to QMC to A&E department Seen by spinal surgeon who ordered an MRI and told me I had cervical myelopathy – he was straight talking and honest and I liked that!Told me to come back next week for an appointment with spinal teamRe-assessed by spinal team – when I first met Lianne! Confirmed diagnosis after further scansTold me I was being put on the emergency surgery list – this could take months ~2 weeks later, things were continuing to get worseRe-attended spinal ward at QMC, got admitted and had surgery on 08/11/2021

5. Surgery Spinal decompression of C4 – C6 through back of neck (although was supposed to be front!

6. Moving forward…Instantly betterBut then developed new symptoms on my right side…Ongoing difficulties with neuropathic pain medication Ongoing recovery
