Base Survey

Lead

survey programmer tested and verified that all variables were exporting correctly at the front-end.This allowed us to determine which variables would need renaming during the cleaning process

2017 Quality Improvements

Seed Files, Major/Degree Lists, and Supplemental Data Files

Seed file validator was upgraded, moved in-house to accommodate more customization and is now also used for the major list and the supplemental data

files.Visual inspection instructions were updated to be more thorough and it is now required that two different Project Managers review the seed file after running it through the validator.

Data CleaningSPSS syntax was re-written from scratch and tested thoroughly.Cleaning process is significantly more automated than previous years.Three people now working on QA process instead of one.

A new Quality Assurance checklist will be utilized
