Monologue
– A speech heard by every character on stage.
Soliloquy
– A speech in which a character reveals their private thoughts and feelings. They are usually alone on stage. Only the audience hears them.
Aside
- A private remark heard by only the audience, but said when other characters are present. (aside) is stated in the play.
