2 nd HourMonday, January 26th Lesson #2: Prepared What does it mean to be Prepared at WM? Bring all materials to class Wear ID (New ID= $5, New Lanyard=$3) Come to school dressed appropriately ( review dress code- next slide ) Hats/Purses/Bags/Electronics in locker (if you are holding it, you are wearing it. Keep it in your locker). Purses must be smaller than your agenda.

2 nd HourMonday, January 26th Dress Code Pants must be worn at the hips. If you do not have a belt, you will be asked to change into school issued clothing (sweats/t shirt). Shorts/Skirts/Dresses must be fingertip length. Leggings are not pants. All leggings must be worn with a shirt/dress that is longer than your fingertips. Breasts, bellies, and backsides must be covered. Tank tops are not allowed. Students choosing not to follow the dress code will be asked to change into school issued clothing (sweats/t shirt). Your clothes will be returned at the end of the day. Dress for success every day! Fines will be issued for unreturned items. Hats are not allowed on in the building (not even in your hand or on your waist). Backpacks, hats, and large purses must be kept in your locker. Purses must be smaller than your agenda. In regard to pants, you may not have holes or frays above the knee. ID must be worn at all times (Safety and Security). New IDs cost $5. New lanyards are $3. No exceptions. Dress code rules still apply during Spirit Week.

4 th HourMonday, January 26th Lesson #4: Involved What does it mean to be Involved at WM? Stay awake and engaged in class Help keep Café, halls, rooms clean Join extracurricular activities and/or attend school events

5 th HourMonday, January 26th Lesson #5: Determined What does it mean to be Determined at WM? Come to school every day Be to class on time, every hour Complete homework on time Move with a purpose

6 th HourMonday, January 26th Lesson #6: Enthusiastic What does it mean to be Enthusiastic at WM? Cheer for your team Stay classy (No Booing or trash talk) Stay positive and wear a smile  Check out school website for new Marauder Gear & wear it on Friday’s!

6 th HourMonday, January 26th Fees and Fines Fines occur when you buy an I.D. or lanyard, lose or damage a school issued book, you do not turn in school issued clothing (for inappropriate dress or athletics), or you did not pay your senior fees . Fines should be paid in a timely manner. Fines that are not paid will prevent you from buying tickets to dances (snow coming or prom). Seniors will not walk in graduation if fines are not paid in full.

1 st HourTuesday, January 27 th Lesson #7: Welcome and Overview of Pass Policy: Welcome students to Semester 2 of the 2014/2015 school year at Warren Mott High School ! Due to not having agendas this year, passes will be given out by individual teachers. Each pass is color coded to the restroom nearest that teacher, you are to use only that restroom. Passes should only be given out to one student at a time during class. Use your time efficiently, go to the restroom between classes, make appointments with counselors before or after school, do what is necessary to be in class.

2 nd HourTuesday, January 27th Lesson #8: Tardies and Attendance Be to class on time, every time (please discuss and post Bell Schedule) 1 st Tardy= Warning, 2 nd Tardy= Call home, 3 rd Tardy= Detention, 4 th Tardy= Referral You must check in with your house office if you are more than 20 minutes late. All absences must be called in to your house office; office information and phone numbers are available on our webpage. Students will not be allowed to make up work if the absence is unverified.

4 th HourTuesday, January 27th Lesson #10: Cafeteria Procedures and Lunch Schedules 9 th and 10 th grade students will eat in the Main Café. Upperclassmen have the option of eating in the Small Café. Students with Senior Status (16.5 credits) may leave campus for lunch but must return on time. Lunch menus will be provided during daily announcements and on the whiteboards in the Main Café. Students must be wearing an ID to get lunch. Breakfast will be served from 7am- 7:09am. Students must leave the Café by 7:09 and be to class before 7:14. Breakfast will be sold for $1.50. Lunch is $3.25. Students will be dismissed by table when they are seated and their area is clean. Warren Mott hosts a dinner program for those who are attending a school sponsored event such as: an academic club, tutoring, athletics, or band. This program runs from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

6 th HourTuesday, January 27th Lesson #12: Dismissal Procedures Students should remain seated until the end of class. Please do not line up at the door . Buses will be lined up in front of South House. Buses leave at approximately 2:25 pm. All school rules/expectations apply on the bus to and from school. PRIDE! All students must exit the building by 2:30 or be accompanied by an adult.

1 st HourWednesday, January 28th Lesson #13: Code of Conduct and CPC bus schedule Cont’d Code of Conduct can be found on the WCS webpage. (Highlight major offenses: Fighting, drinking, drugs, weapons, threats, disruption of the educational process, etc.)

3 rd HourWednesday, January 28th Lesson #15: Sports and Eligibility Requirements Athletics and academics go hand in hand at Warren Mott High School. Athletic Director, Mr. Noble. Students are highly encouraged to participate in WM sports, as an athlete or a fan! In agreement with MHSAA and district policy, students must pass 4 out of 6 classes in order to be eligible to play sports at Warren Mott High School. Eligibility will be determined each quarter.

4 th HourWednesday, January 28th Lesson #16: Lock Down and Emergency Drills Over the course of the school year, we are required to do a series of Emergency Drills such as Lock Down, Tornado, and Fire Drills. Lock Down: All students must stay in their classrooms. Students in the hall must head into the nearest classroom. Teachers: shut and lock your door, take attendance, turn off the lights, continue teaching. You will be notified of lockdown, and its completion, via PA. Tornado: During a drill or in the event of an actual weather emergency, please reference your assigned location (posted in each room). Students must be quiet and facing the wall during this time. Fire: During a drill or in the event of an actual fire, please reference your evacuation route (posted in each room). Teachers, escort your class to your assigned location and take a hard copy of attendance. Students must be out of the parking lot (at least 150 ft from the building) and remain in their assigned location until notified by house administrator.

5 th HourWednesday, January 28th Lesson #17: Study Skills and Staying Organized After school tutoring in the Media Center, every Monday through Thursday. ELL tutoring is offered Monday –Thursday after school. Set aside a space and time to complete homework each night. Check Powerschool daily to track grades and assignments. Access your teacher’s online webpage and/or lesson plans. Check the Marauder Website frequently for updates

6 th HourWednesday, January 28th Lesson #18: Locker Logic Each student has been assigned a locker. Sharing lockers is not allowed at Warren Mott High School. Sharing a locker leaves you vulnerable to theft, misplaced books/assignments, and makes you responsible for EVERYTHING in that locker. You do not need to stop at your locker between every class; doing so will make you tardy. Develop a plan! Treat your locker with respect. Writing on, hitting, or kicking your locker is considered vandalism. If your locker will not open, please contact your house office or a custodian.

1 st HourThursday, January 29 th Lesson #19: Safety and Security WM has two, full time security guards: Mr. Brown , and Ms. Edwards. We also have a school liaison officer, Officer Graus . Officer Graus is a member of the Warren Police Department. For your safety, IDs must be worn at all times. You must be wearing YOUR ID with an accurate grade specific lanyard. Students will not be permitted into class without an ID. A new ID may be purchased for $5 (pay the bookkeeper and take the receipt to your house office). New lanyards cost $3. IDs help us recognize who does not belong in the building and are used to identify students in case of an emergency. Students are not allowed to leave the building without permission (students with senior status may leave for lunch). If you are leaving, your parent or guardian must call and you must check out/in of your house office or it will be considered a SKIP.

2 nd HourThursday, January 28th Lesson #20: CPC/MMSTC/WCSPA Warren Con offers opportunities for WM students to participate in programs at other buildings: Career Prep Center (CPC), Macomb Math Science Technology Center (MMSTC), and Warren Consolidated Schools Center for the Performing Arts (WCSPA). Students signed up for these courses should refer to the bus schedule and release times.

3 rd HourThursday, January 28th Lesson #21: Credit Requirements 22.5 total credits are needed for graduation. A breakdown of credits needed can be found in your agenda/handbook. Credits need to be a Freshman : 0, Sophomore : 4.5, Junior : 10.5, Senior : 16.5.

4 th HourThursday, January 28th Lesson #22: Textbooks Students: YOU are responsible for the books that are signed out to YOU. Please keep track of your books to avoid a fine.

5 th HourThursday, January 28th Lesson #23: Grading Policy Semester grades are calculated using the 40%-40%-20% rule. Students must pass 60% of the class (i.e. must pass 2 of the 3) Students must earn a 60% (D-) average. A student not taking the final exam will receive and F as the final grade until the exam is completed. Homework may account for up to 25% of the final grade. The remaining 75% is to be based on multiple measures of assessments (tests, quizzes, presentations, projects, labs, etc.).

6 th HourThursday, January 28th Lesson #24: Bullying Bullying will not be tolerated at Warren Mott High School and is considered a Major Infraction, up to a 10 day suspension, per the Code of Conduct. Bullying includes (per Board policy) physical, verbal, and psychological abuse, including hazing, gestures, comments, threats, or actions to a student which cause or threaten to cause bodily harm, reasonable fear for personal safety or personal degradation. Bullying is any gesture or written, verbal, graphic, or physical act that is reasonably perceived as being motivated by race, color, religion, ancestry, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, mental, physical, or sensory disability or impairment. All such behaviors are considered harassment whether they occur online, via phone/text, on/off school property, at a school-sponsored function, or in a school vehicle.
