What Is Stress
Stress is a reaction to a basic threat and the basic threat is the perceived inability to cope.
The reaction to stress is a unique personal perception of the world.
The perception factor is that mysterious variable that can often make “one man’s poison another man’s pleasure”
How we perceive life is so often determined by the way we perceive ourselves. Reality is not made for us, but by us.
The manner in which you choose to interpret, react to and handle a perceived stress can very often be far more damaging to you than the actual stress could ever be on its own.Slide4
The stress of a strong wind might alter the balance of a suspension bridge so that it swings side to side, yet it goes unnoticed to the cars going over it. However if the wind increases, the swaying of the bridge becomes obvious to everyone.
Stress in our lives is like the wind.
Sometimes the stress that people feel makes them feel shaky or frightened.
Most often, however, the real risk that comes from stress is that, over many years, it will damage peoples health and detract from the quality of their life.Slide5

Relax, relax, relax. Amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life, sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves. If we do not help ourselves, how can we effectively help others.
