Champions Club PromotionUtilization, Promotion & Recognition

Slide2

What is the Champions Club?

Our Champions Club program started in 2012 nationwide

It is our fundraising recognition and stewardship program

Registered participants from across the country can become Champions Club members by reaching an individual fundraising level of $500 or more

In 2012, we had over 13,000 Champions Club members nationwide

Slide3

What are the goals of the program?

Influence individual fundraising behavior

Decrease zero dollar participants

Provide recognition among peers

Increase retention

Many events have a similar program in place; Champions Club helps ensure Walk remains competitive in the event space

Slide4

What benefits do CC members receive?

Walk Day Homework

Make sure you know who your Champions Club members are PRIOR to Walk day

This will ensure Champions Club members are greeted with thanks and enthusiasm

Some Champions Club members will achieve this status prior to Walk day and some will turn in enough money to reach this level on Walk day

Slide13

Walk Day Welcome

Regardless, ALL Champions Club members should be greeted by staff and volunteers with excitement

Train volunteers that as soon as they hear one bell ringing, they must join in for full impact

Champions Club members should receive their medals at registration

Train volunteers to place the medal around the neck of the Champions while congratulating them

Slide14

Did you say cow bells? Why?

We want to celebrate our champions

This will make sure everyone knows who the Champions Club members are

This will help create a buzz around the program, motivating other participants to reach the Champions Club level

Slide15

Don’t Forget!

In order for this to be a successful program, it is crucial to teach all registration volunteers how to properly execute this program on Walk day

Slide16

Special Touches

When a Champions Club member checks-in, have a volunteer runner at the registration table gather up the Champions name and fundraising level to give to the emcee/DJ to announce to the crowd –

“Another Champions Club member has arrived! Congrats to Susie Smith who has raised over $750 this year! Let’s give Susie a round of applause.”
