5. HOW TO EXTINGUISH FIRE1- Starvation – Removing Fuel2- Smothering – Removing Oxygen3- Cooling – Removing Heat “Oxygen, Heat and Fuel (Burning Products) Are needed for fire to exist”

7. DCP FIRE EXTINGUISHER APPLICABLE ON BELOW TYPES OF FIRESAFE USE OF DCP (POWDER+OXYGEN) FIRE EXTINGUSHER ON THE FOLLOWING EQUIPMENT:(Type A)- Wood, Paper & Textiles. (Type B)- Flammable Liquids.(Type D)- Combustible Metal.(Type K)- Oils & Fats.

8. CO2 FIRE EXTINGUISHER APPLICABLE ON BELOW TYPE OF FIRESAFE USE OF CO2 (Carbon + Oxygen(2) = Carbondioxide) - FIRE EXTINGUSHER ON THE FOLLOWING EQUIPMENT:(Type C)- (Preferred on Energized Electric Equipment

IN CASE OF FIRE FOLLOW RACERescue – Those who are in danger.Alarm – Fire Alarm and Dial 4444, Inform them the exact location.Contain – Close doors and windows when make sure no one is inside the room/ward.Extinguish – If safe to do so, otherwise Evacuate To respective Assembly Area mentioned in evacuation map.

12. HOW TO USE A FIRE BLANKETSuitable For Burning Clothing & Small Burning Liquid FiresPull tapes down until blanket is released. Open blanket fully ensuring it protects your hands.For a Liquid/Substance fire. Turn off power supply immediately. Place blanket gently over flames to seal the fire from the air.For a person in flames. Wrap the blanket around him/her, to seal the fire from air but avoiding the nose and mouth.Immediately seek medical assistance Not To Be Used On Live Electrical Equipment Especially Where High Voltage Is Involved

13. HOW TO USE MCP (MANUAL CALL POINT)MCP enables the occupants of the building to raise the alarm within the building.Activation of an MCP occurs when the glass is broken.Press & apply reasonable force on the dot indicated by arrows & the glass will break to set the alarm.

14. IN CASE OF EMERGENCY CALL ON EXT#. 4444 OR ACTIVATE MCP & FOLLOW RACE1st Responder from Emergency Team will reach at the spot in 1-4 Minutes“CODE RED” FOR FIRE EMERGENCY“CODE GREEN” FOR EVACUATION

18. PURPOSE OF ASSEMBLY AREALeave the building by nearest Safe & available Exit.Do not use the lift, use the stair cases instead.Report to assembly point soon.Do not return to the building until authorized to do so.Report to the person in charge of assembly point and follow his instructions.

LEVELS OF EVACUATIONLEVEL I – Moving from one room/area to another within the same fire compartment.LEVEL II – Moving from one compartment to another compartment(Horizontal Evacuation).LEVEL III – Moving from one Floor to another Floor downwards(Vertical Evacuation).LEVEL IV – Evacuating outside the building to assembly area.

DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY ACCORDING TO LEVELS OF EVACUATIONLEVEL I – Designated Team Leaders/Fire WardensLEVEL II – Fire Supervisor/Manager (Safety & Security)LEVEL III – Manager Safety & Security/COOLEVEL IV – COO(Morning)/Administrator(Evening/Night)Nursing Manager is authorized for UTILITIES (Electric/Gas/Water) & OXYGEN SHUTOFF in consultation with Manager Security.

21. YOUR ROLE IN FIRE SAFETY MANAGEMENTDo’sKeep clear all Exits/ Walk ways all the time. Be familiar with Locations of Safe & Nearest Exits.Report any incident/ fire, smoke smell, naked wiring.Make sure of No Smoking Compliance is within the Hospital.Dont’sDon't park vehicles in front of the emergency exit.Use of Extensions, Multi Plugging Sockets, Electric Heaters, Blowers, without basic precautionary measures is strictly prohibited.SIH is “SMOKE FREE ZONE” Contd..

Conduct & participate in training, drills and learn how to use fire extinguisher. Dont’s4. Do not take risks.5. Do not stop to collect personal belongings.6.
