The History of the Cello!
The Cello is one of the instruments from the String Family. It is the 2nd largest instrument of the string family.
The name cello is a contraction of the Italian
violoncello,which means "little
violone". It was invented ca. 1538 over in Europe. We do not know who invented it.
The Cello is played sitting down, with the instrument resting between the knees and with a string bow.
The Cello is featured in classical music and many other kinds of music today.Slide3

Why I like the Cello!I like the cello because of its deep, unique sound and how its played. I would love to learn how to play the cello because it’s a very beautiful instrument.
The cello plays in the same “clef” (Bass clef) as the trombone, my other favorite instrument.I like hearing a solo cello play by itself in any kind of music.
You can hear the cello in a lot of today’s music. It makes me want to eat jello. Kidding! Slide7
