Staging the Scene: Duncan’s Death

Today, you will re-create Duncan’s death with the shoe boxes you have brought for your table.

Each person in your group will be responsible for hand drawing a picture of the murder scene. Your drawing should look just the way you picture the scene in the play. It should have lots of detail and must be in COLOR.

Scenes should have:

Characters with expressions, appropriate clothing for the time period.

Props

Furniture appropriate for the time period

Any thing else you can think to addSlide3

Staging the Scene As a Group

Once you’ve each drawn your own picture, you will decide whose you like best, and discuss how to stage that scene in your shoebox

As a group you will need to do the following :

Create a backdrop for the scene.

Decide what part of the scene you will be staging—

ie

. What characters are involved? Where are they standing? Are they holding certain items? What’s their posture?

Add furniture, props, characters, etc to the scene.

Design your characters, what are their expressions? What do they look like? How are they interacting with each other? Add faces to each of your characters.

As a group you will turn in:

4 drawings of Duncan’s Murder (one for each member of your group)
