Mozart’s 40th symphony Guide 0:00 I was surprised that the beginning of the song didn’t have much of a prelude or introductory notes; it started off sounding like the middle of the song. The music started off calm with the string instruments playing, the music ascends and descends. The texture is monophony as the strings play alone.

0:22 the music builds as new instruments are introduced. The music switches back to playing calm like in the beginning. The dynamics increase as the music builds. The speed of the melody increases as harmony is introduced. The texture changes to Homophony as new instruments play.

0:53 the music is calm as the strings continue to play. The music returns to low dynamics that increase. The texture changes between homophony and the melody changes speeds the dynamics of the music are constantly changing. The music changes back and forth from monophony to homophony.

1:20 the music starts off again calm with low dynamics. Dynamics increase as the melody increases in speed. The texture is monophony as the strings play the same notes. The strings play soft and slowly increase in dynamics.

2:30 the melody ascends drops off and continues to repeat the pattern. The texture is monophony as the strings play alone. The music is calm as the dynamics are low. The melody is slow with minor ascending and descending repeating.

3:00 the melody continues slow and calm. The texture is monophony with low dynamics. Dynamics increase and decrease as the melody changes.

3:30 the texture starts off monophony until new instruments are introduced, it then changes to homophony. The dynamics of the music constantly change from high to low range. The melody is constantly changing speed as the dynamics change.

4:00 Dynamics start off low and increase and decrease with the melody. The melody changes speeds while the texture remains monophony. The texture changes as brass instruments are introduced.

4:30 the dynamics start off low and the melody is very quiet. The melody slowly ascends as the dynamics increase. The texture changes from monophony to homophony. The dynamics constantly change.

5:00 the dynamics are low and slowly increase with the melody. The melody is slow and increases in speed. The texture is homophony as multiple instruments play. The melody ascends and drops off and repeats.

5:30 the dynamics increase as the melody ascends. The texture starts as monophony and changes to homophony. The instruments came together for the steady harmony.

6:00 the melody is steadily playing in the homophony texture. The dynamics are low, and the melody is calm and slow easy to follow. The dynamics stay consistently low while the strings play a steady melody.

6:30 the melody starts off slowly and increases. The dynamics mildly increase. The melody slowly ascends and increases in speed. The texture is homophony as multiple instruments play different notes.

7:00 the dynamics start off low with a slow melody. The dynamics increase as the string instruments ascend. The melody speeds up and slows down.

7:40 the dynamics are very low almost unable to hear anything. The melody is very soft and clam with a slight increase with a wavy type rhythm. The rhythm is very easy to follow. The music is not very intense it’s very relaxing. The texture is homophony as multiple instruments play different notes at the same time.Slide3

8:50 the music is very calm and slow, the melody slowly increases while the strings play. The texture is homophony as the horns play alongside the strings.9:30 the dynamics start off low and increase as the waver melody ascends. The horns continue to play creating a homophony texture. 10:00 the strings continue playing a soft gentle melody. The strings and horns play a homophony texture. The music is soft and slightly wavy. The music ascends and Plateaus towards the end.10:30 the melody continues to wavy and calm. The dynamics slightly increase and remain very calm. The texture is monophony as the strings play alone.

11:00 the rhythm continues to repeat with low to moderate dynamics. The strings play a monophony texture. The melody increases in speed and the dynamics increase as well becoming more intense.

12:00 the texture is homophony as the horns accompany the strings. The melody is very soft with low dynamics. The melody slowly increases and is very calm. The rhythm continues to pattern and is very soft.

13:30 the dynamics increase with an ascending and descending melody. The texture is homophony with horn instruments accompanying the strings. The melody continues to be very soft and easy to follow.Slide4
