It is our pleasure to continue offering academically-rigorous, socially-engaging, mentally-stimulating, and physically-strengthening classes for our older adults students. In the Spring 2015 Class Schedule, you will find more than 180 classes scheduled in facilities throughout the South Orange County region. We are sure you will find many of your favorite classes, some new additions, and the annual return of our Distinguished Guest Lecture Series. Saddleback College’s administration and the members of the South Orange County Community College District Board of Trustees maintain their full commitment to the success and continuation of the Emeritus Institute. It is our goal for you to enroll in classes that will stretch your mind and body and enable you to wholly engage in your commitment to lifelong learning. I am personally honored to join Saddleback College as the new Director of the Emeritus Instructional Program and to guide and grow our repertoire of excellent class offerings. Having spent the last nine years within higher education administration at both public and private institutions, I am grateful to join the heralded and robust academic department at Saddleback. It is my goal to continue to spread the wonderful reputation of the Emeritus Institute throughout South Orange County and to welcome many new students to the program. My commitment to the Emeritus Institute is strong and long-lasting. It has already been a pleasure to speak with many students whose lives have been bettered by enrolling in our classes. I have been taking EMERITUS INSTITUTE SCHEDULE OF CLASSES  SPRING 2015 1 EMERITUS INSTITUTE SPRING SEMESTER 2015 The Saddleback College Emeritus Institute was established as an educational opportunity for the pursuit and enhancement of lifelong learning, primarily for the older adult. On-campus ofce: HS Building, Rm 244 (949) 582-4835 Off-campus ofce: Laguna Woods Village, Clubhouse 4, Laguna Woods (949) 770-9669 ALL classes begin the week of January 20, 2015 and end May 21, 2015, unless noted otherwise. EMERITUS INSTITUTE SPRING 2015 ACADEMIC CALENDAR January 20 Instruction Begins Febuary 13-16 ............. Presidents’ Weekend (classes not in session) March 22-28 Spring Break (classes not in session) May 21 Emeritus Spring Semester Ends Throughout the registration period, computers are available for online registration at the Saddleback College Campus, 28000 Marguerite Pkwy, Mission Viejo, 92692. You may go to the Admissions & Records Ofce in the Student operation are: Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 6 pm; Friday, 9 am to 12 noon. FEES At this time, all Emeritus courses are zero unit, non-credit courses and carry no unit fees. Some courses do require a materials fee. All fees must be paid at the time of registration. Check or money order, VISA, Discover or MasterCard will be accepted for Internet registration. Payment must be received within FIVE business days to avoid cancellation of your classes. Only checks or money orders will be accepted at all off-campus sites; no cash or credit cards. MATERIALS FEE Students must pay any “Materials Fee” as stated in the Schedule of Classes, at the time of registration. Additional supply fees may be required. REFUND DEADLINE Classes must be dropped by February 1, 2015 to receive a refund. LAGUNA WOODS VILLAGE PARKING PASSES STUDENT PARKING FEE Laguna Woods Village (LWV) requires non-resident students who drive a vehicle into the community to pay a “Student Parking Pass Fee,” which is $20 per vehicle for each semester. There are no refunds for parking passes. Students carpooling into the LWV Community will not need a Parking Pass. Students walking in will need to arrange for “ GATE CLEARANCE” with an Emeritus staff member. PAYMENT / PICK-UP Student Parking Passes will be available Woods Village Community Center, 24351 El Toro Road, Laguna Woods, 92637, from Monday, Jan. 12 – Friday, Jan. 16; Tuesday Jan. 20 – Friday, Jan. 23, and Monday, Jan. 26. Hours are 8:30 am – 2:00 pm. Passes will NOT be mailed . Students registering late will need to have a Saddleback Emeritus Institute Parking Pass Application Form completed by a Saddleback College staff member before purchasing a parking pass.
