What is Servant Leadership?

Servant leadership is the Department’s philosophy that applies to all members regardless of rank and is a set of practices that enriches the lives of individuals, builds better teams, better organizations, and ultimately creates more vibrant and engaged communities.

A servant-leader focuses primarily on the growth and well-being of people and the communities to which they belong.Slide4

What Servant Leadership is Not…

Servant leadership is

a hands off, passive, soft, or wimpy type of attitude and action.

It is

NOT

submissive, disingenuous, or self-serving.
