The Beatles
The first group we examine is extremely
famous and changed music forever. They were very modern for their time and went straight to success as soon as their first singles came out.
The band's principal members were John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and
Ringo
Starr. The name was chosen by
Lennon
who loved the terms in double
meaning(
beatles
meaning insect and beat at the same time). After conquering America and Europe all in a few years the Beatles released an incredible amount of singles and albums. In 1968 they selected the apple as their symbol. In 1970 they fell out, the singer Paul McCartney left and the group collapsed. The Beatles had ended their era after having been through unprecedented success for ten years.
They sang rock and pop and gave way to a whole new world of music
John Lennon became an independent hippy singer and was killed
Paul McCartney is still alive and often sings famous old singles at concerts
Ringo
Starr is also still alive but no longer performs
George Harrison died of cancer in 2001

Very famous rock band that formed in Cambridge in 1965. The group was made up of

Gilmour

guitar), Roger Waters(
bass), Nick Mason (drums), Richard Wright (keyboards) and Syd Barrett(guitar and voice). In 1968
Barret is kicked out, Waters takes charge and the gruop
immediately gains popularity. David Gillmore becomes the singer and in 1972 they start
to move towards stardom. They reach planetary

alternative rock musicians. The Sex Pistols originally were made up of

Jones, drummer Paul Cook
and bassist
Glen Matlock
. Matlock was replaced by
Sid Vicious
in early 1977.
They were against any kind of society
organisation
and refused to go to the ceremony when they were introduced to the rock and roll hall of fame in 2006.
