Federal Aviation Administration – Key Officials Jere Hayslett Director Jere Hayslett has served as the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Director of Air Traffic Systems (ATS) since 2018. Mr. Hayslett is responsible for providing leadership and direction to organizations that support air traffic control systems and serv ices. He is also responsible for automation, decision support and mission support programs and policies that impact airports, airlines, general aviation, domestic and international aviation organizations and the military. The ATS programs have an annual budget of 500 million to one billion and extend throughout the United States contiguous airspace, Alaska, Hawaii, territories and even support foreign aviation organizations and governments. Mr. Hayslett has over 35 years of FAA experience and began his career as the radar and communications electronics engineer in Atlanta, GA . He also served as the FAA Environmental and Safety Compliance Division Manager, responsible for the integration of Environmental Protection Agency and Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations within FAA programs and NAS operations and also served as the Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS - B) Man ager in Alaska .
