Task two

Maria Ahmed

Part one:

c) Find the exact number of person that each two catering companies can accommodate for the same amount. How much will the amount be?

Show your complete solution.

15X + 800 = 30X + 200

800 – 200 = 30X -15X

600 = 15X

Task two

Maria Ahmed

Part two:

Mohammed has 950 AED available to spend on his birthday party. How many friends can he invite under each of the catering opinions? Set up an equation for each opinion and solve it to find out how many friends (persons) that can be invite under each opinion.

R Us company

15X + 800 = 950

15X = 950 - 800

15X = 150

15

X =10

4 U company

30X + 200 = 950

30X = 950 -200

30X = 750

Part three:

Mohammed hates to waste food and beverages. He does not like to be embarrassed

In front of his friends either for not providing enough to eat and drink.

he determines that 40 person plus or minus 10% is a good number.

Write and solve an absolute value equation to find

The maximum and minimum number of friends that

Mohammed should invite to his party.

X - 40

= 4

X – 40 = + or – 4

X – 40 = -4 or X – 40 = 4

X = -4 + 40

X = 4 + 40

X = 36

X = 44

Equations

Try to fill in the missing numbers.

The missing numbers are integers between 5 and 10.

The numbers in each row add up to totals to the right.

The numbers in each column add up to the totals along the bottom.

The diagonal lines also add up the totals to the right.

Equations

Try to fill in the missing numbers.

Use the numbers 1 through 9 to complete the equations.

Each number is only used once.

Each row is a math equation. Each column is a math equation.

Remember that multiplication and division are performed before addition and subtraction.
