Choppy sentences are sentences that are too short and often repeat the same words They should be combined to make longer sen tences For example I like dogs Dogs make good pets Dogs are friendly and loyal They sentences do not have good style Readin adjectives and adverbs #4. In a sentence with a compound subject, verb, or object, a modifier may describe one part of the compound element or all parts. What . the modifier describes affects where it is placed.. adjectives and adverbs . #3.
