N.Q.2 Define appropriate quantities for the purpose of descriptive modeling. N.Q.3 Choose a level of accuracy appropriate to limitations on measurement when reporting quantities. A.REI.10 Understand that the graph of an equation in two variables is the set of all its solutions plotted in the coordinate plane, often forming a curve (which could be a line). Find the Missing Value. For each problem work with a partner to discuss the method you will use to solve each problem using your knowledge of geometry and the techniques of this section, then draw a figure to represent the information provided in the problem. Complete the problem independently, making computations with your calculator. Then compare your answers and discuss the solution with your partner Turn in the completed worksheet. Solve a trigonometry application problem with the aid of a calculator. . Modeling a Vibrating Spring Work with a partner to solve the problem. Use the Desmos online graphing calculator, https //www.desmos.com/ Click on Launch Calculator when you are ready to sketch a graph of the displacement of the mass Use the snipping tool to paste your graph into your worksheet.Save the completed worksheet document as yourname_taskA. Print a copy of your worksheet and hand it in..Solve with an online graphing calculator and insert graph into worksheetThis task uses:Desmos online graphing calculator Digital WorksheetLearning Objective(s):Students will be able to apply the concepts of trigonometry to solve real-world problems...AAUGMENTATIONTechnology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement.

Vibrations of a Musical Note . Work with a partner to solve the problem. Use the Desmos online graphing calculator found at https//www.desmos.com/. Click on Launch Calculator when you are ready to sketch your graph. Make changes to the amplitude and frequency and compare the graphs on Desmos when working on part c and d.Save the completed worksheet document as yourname_taskM. Sharing the Knowledge You and your class partner will use an app called Tellagami to create an animation which explains the correlation between the period and frequency of a trigonometric function. It is important to plan what you will say because it is a very short video (30 seconds). So before you start recording, collaborate with your partner to make sure you include all relevant information you want to include, writing a brief script or outline. When you have completed step 2, open up the Tellagami app and read over the “How To.” Choose a character, an emotion, and a background. You may use the doodle feature to write on your background. Click on the “ back arrow “to get back to your screen to record. Use the “record” feature and click on the “record” button when you are ready to begin. Click on the “preview” button to see what your gami will look and sound like. When you are satisfied, click to “share.” Make sure you click the “Save” option so that your video will be saved onto the camera roll.Open up the Safari app on the iPad and go to www.cpsb.org. Log into Blackboard and find this class. Navigate to High School Mathematics>IMPACT 2015> Day 1 Agenda>Group 3: Activty 3: Experience the Model Lessons>Task 4 Blog. Click on “Create Blog Entry” to add a new entry and in the title line type in “Your Name, Partner’s Name”. Click on the “attachment” icon on the top of the page and then on the “Browse my Computer” at the bottom of the page. Find your video from the camera roll and click “Use”. If you didn’t have enough time to say all you wanted to about the regression model and the correlation coefficient on your “gami”, type in the additional information in the blog entry. Click “Post” .Once all Gami videos are posted, provide a comment on each of the videos with a review of how you think they did. To view all the blog posts, click on “All Class Members.” Share your knowledge about period and frequency of a trig function with thanks to Brenda Storey .
