There are four types of immigrants:

Due to the high cost of immigration, usually only one parent comes to Canada and must work hard to sponsor the rest of their family into

You can only sponsor a family member after you become financially stable in Canada and can support those who you sponsor into the country. Slide7

Refugees

Unlike Immigrant, refugees have been displaced from their country and cannot return home.

The flee to escape torture, persecution or death, often from war torn countries.

Impact of Interprovincial Migration

Interprovincial migration plays an important role in Canada’s economy. When people leave a province, the economic growth will go down.

It also changes the makeup of a province. Most migrants have post secondary and are young (15-44).
