Veterans Day at Dr. Herbert N. Richardson School is always special! This year, some Veterans from the New Jersey Veteran’s Memorial Home in Menlo Park visited. They were escorted to the Cafetorium where two third grade classrooms, 228 and 232, performed for them. The rest of the third and fourth grades came to take part and sing along to honor the veterans.
Ms. Moffatt spoke of the
importance of the day. We had many patriotic songs. One, America the Beautiful, was also performed in sign language due to the efforts of Ms. Alsup. A few students performed a skit that taught many about the day and why we celebrate it. The veterans were given gifts and cards for themselves and to take back for others at the home.A wonderful time was had by all!Slide3Slide4Slide5Slide6Slide7Slide8
