Before the interview Search the address of the company.Go on to Google.com and type in the name of the company.

Google maps; GPS.Options: Bus, train, Uber, Lyft, riding on a bike or walking destination.Google Maps displays arrival and departure times.

Be familiar with the street names, names of the stops, how long it will take to arrive, and the time of departure.

Watch out for any traffic (especially during rush hour) or any delays in train stations or buses so that there is extra time to get to the interview.

For the job interview, make sure to arrive early and ready.Slide4

Why is it important to research the company?Be well informed about the company and the position being applied for.

Go to the company`s website.Read the mission statement, “About Us”, staff, newspaper articles, reviews, culture, values, reputation, achievements and additional information that is available on the website.Get familiar with the information that seems interesting and fascinating.

Use social media to get more familiar with the company’s atmosphere and get any updates from the company itself.

Leave a lasting impression on the interviewer.

How to dress for the interviewFirst impressions are critical. Hygiene is important. Make sure hair is neatly brushed.

The best hairstyles for women include: a bun, French braid, ponytail or loose. Men must make sure facial hair is trimmed. Unkept

facial hair can give interviewers a negative impression.

Avoid flashy jewelry. Avoid fragrances with strong smells.

A suit is the preferred choice of clothing for both men and women. A suit consist of a matching blazer and slacks. Also, wear a coordinating button down shirt with a suit.

Men should wear a matching tie with their suit. Women have the option of wearing a skirt instead of slacks. The skirt must be no shorter then knee length.

The best colors to wear are black, gray and navy blue. Clothing with a subtle pinstripe or plaid pattern are acceptable. Clothing should be ironed.

Shoes should be polished. Men can wear loafers. Women can wear flats, loafers or high heels. Slide6

Documents to bring to the interviewHaving the proper documentation is important when heading to a job interview. Be sure to have photo ID and a social security card.

Bring at least three copies of the resume and cover letter. Hold the documents in a folder. Documents should not be wrinkled or stained. Bring copies of references. Before the interview inform references that an employer may be contacting them.Slide7

How to act during the interview(Do the research beforehand, dress appropriately, and bring the required documents).Do not be late!

Practice potential questions.Look like the perfect candidate. Be positive (optimistic) when going into the interview.Be confident in answering the questions; display confidence.

Be respectful. Make the employer feel like it is a casual conversation instead of an interview.

Have good posture and body language while the interview is going on.

Leave with a great impression.
