Goal: Completea draft plan for review by the Planning Commission by pril2017 and a goal of ossible approval by Planning Commissions by June 2017. Building Heights CommitteeThis committee will be reviewing building height regulations throughout the city with a focus downtown. Goal: A formal recommendation by this committee will come forward and be communicated to the Planning Commissionand Downtown Development Authority in April 2017.Based on the recommendation, zoning amendments follow. Formal Planning Commission Trainingand Study Session topicsThroughout the year, the Planning Commission will be made aware of training programs available in the area and via the InternetIn addition, the Planning Commission would like to study the Boardman River as it relates to development, discuss environmental issues and nuisance issues like emissions and have a discussion related to conditional rezoning guidelines.Goal: Offer professional development and training

Grand Traverse Commons Master Plan ReviewThe current Master Plan is 5 years old and requires review by the Joint Planning Commission.Master Plan Elements ImplementationImplementation strategies were created for a number of PlanningElementof the Master Plan. Prioritizing the long list of suggested implementation actions will help the Planning Commission and staff focus on the highest priorities.
