Global Fund Community, Rights and Gender Technical Assistance Presenters: Brice Bambara Chisinau, 22 October 2019 Presentation Overview CRG Strategic Initiative: Overview Short-term technical assistance TA achievements globally and in the EECA region CRG TA with other Global Funds streams of support Stepping into 2020 1 CRG Strategic Initiative: Overview 2 US$ 15 million allocated, for a three years period (2017-2019) across three mutually reinforcing components aimed at meaningfully engaging community and civil society actors in Global Fund and related processes. 3 2.CRG Strategic Initiative – Implementing partners Progress update 93 Short-term TA’s already delivered or on-going/to be concluded by December 2019. 6 Regional Platforms have 70% to 85% of activities implemented as of September 2019 (including regional meetings, TA Assessments, webinars etc). 5 TB networks had 80% of workplan completed by September 2019. Activities include: support to community engagement in the TB HLM (2018), sustainability and transition in the context of new treatment guidelines, TB and CRG assessments and use of data for evidence-based advocacy. 2 Malaria Networks had 100% of workplan/budget implemented by Sept 2019. Funds fully disbursed and reported. Main activities include human rights and gender assessments and trainings in the context of malaria. 6 HIV KP networks have completed an average of 80% of their workplan. Activities involved trainings, mentoring and strengthening of national networks of key populations. Examples of other non-TA CRG SI work in the region Component 3 Provision of community coordination and communication to civil society and community-based organizations in Eastern Europe and Central Asia by ERHA. The platform is also providing support on TA demand creation. 4 Component 2 MPACT is mobilizing community members around Global Fund processes and information dissemination in Kyrgyzstan and Moldova; INPUD through the Eurasian Network of People who Use Drugs (ENPUD) is providing different trainings on harm reduction and small grants to implement activities related to engagement and advocacy within GF processes in Moldova, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Ukraine; GNP+ is providing organizational strengthening/capacity assessment support to organizations in Ukraine; NSWP through different implementers has been providing strategic guidance and organizing regional convenings focusing on transition planning and sustainability. They have also awarded small grants to sex worker-led organizations and networks to implement national program of activities. These activities cover Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Ukraine Examples of other SI support in the region 5 Human Rights Breaking Down Barriers Strategic Initiative Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan are part of
