In literacy, we will be reading true story of Malala’s Magic Pen. Through the use of the this text, we will be looking to explore sentences types and use of brackets in our sentences. We will also work on improving our paragraphing and use of commas. Our write away will be an autobiography . Maths
In Maths we will be developing our understanding of fractions, exploring fractions of shapes, amounts and equivalent fractions. We will also look at adding, multiplying and ordering/comparing fractions. History – The Anglo-Saxons (invading and settling)
The Anglo Saxons came to Britain to help the Romans defeat the Picts in around AD380
The come to help fight, set up homes and farm the land
They came over form Scandinavia
They set up settlements and mostly converted to Christianity.
Many artifacts found help historians build a picture about the way they lived RE & Music
RE – Christianity
Christians believe that there is only one god and Jesus is his son
Christians believe that they can be repented for their sins
They believe that Holy week is the week leading up to Easter Sunday, it is the last week of Lent.
Music – Pop Ballard
To be able to sing a song in unison
To recognise that songs have a structure that involve chorus, bridge and verse
To improvise using the notes C, D and E. Science – Materials
Every day materials include, plastic, wood, metal, glass and others .
That materials have different uses depending on their properties and state
That properties include hardness, transparency, electrical and thermal conductivity, and attraction to magnets.
That solution can be separated again through evaporation of the liquid. This will leave the solute behind (water & salt) Computing & French
Computing-Digital Art
I can recognise that vector drawings are made using shapes
I can experiment with the shape and line tools
French-
To recall names of Clothes and items of clothing
To recognise and name colours in French and use in short statements
Art – Recycling
To learn about a watercolor artist
To develop water colour techniques and colour blending
To create an environment inspired piece - recycling Key information
Homework – Maths and spelling homework will be given out on Fridays and will need to be completed by the following Friday. Children are also expected to read 3 x weekly and use TT Rock stars. This should be recorded in the back of their KJs
PE days - PE will be on Monday (indoor gym) and Wednesdays (swimming). We will be developing skills in floor and flight ad exploring different ways to travel at different levels.
Reminders – Please remain children that they will need to bring their reading books and Kingsley Journals in daily,
