a. Respect for persons
(i) Individuals should be treated as autonomous agents; (ii) persons with diminished autonomy are entitled to protection
b. Beneficence
(i) Do not harm; (ii) maximize possible benefits and minimize possible harms
c. Justice
“An injustice occurs when some benefit to which a person is entitled is denied without good reason or when some burden is imposed unduly...”<br>

Made substantial contributions to conception and design, acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data;
Drafted the article or revised it critically for important intellectual content; and
Approved of the final version to be published.<br>

Dual-use research: any type of legitimate life sciences research that has the potential to be misused for malicious purposes.
