News readers and field reporters

These are the people who present the news to the audience, news readers will typically be dressed in a formal attire and speak in a very clear and eloquent matter, this is to make the news reader seem like a reliable source of information.

The same can be said for field reporters however there are times that the field reporters attire will depend on what the weather is like from the location that he is reporting from.

This is whenever the news reader gets in contact with the field reporter live and asks them questions about the current situation that they are reporting on. This is sent using a television transmitterSlide4

This is basically how the news is presented to the audience, depending on who

the

target audience is this can change, for example, if the target audience is people who want serious news, then you can expect the news reader to be dressed formally, on the other hand, if the target audience is for people looking for less serious news such as movie news or gossip, you can expect the news reader to be dressed casually. Eye witnesses are useful if you want a first person insight into what actually happened, this however isn’t the most reliable source as their knowledge of the situation

experienced may be limited as to what they seen, it has also been proven that people lie when ask by field reporters about events.Slide9

Report Structure

There is a very noticeable report structure whenever it comes to the news, although it may differ slightly from news channel to news channel they usually do follow the same report structure.

It would usually start with an introduction of the subject about to be discussed, then cut to field repor5ting and stock footage along with interviews, then the end will be wrapped up with a conclusion about the whole story.

Actuality Footage

Actuality film is a non-fiction film genre that uses footage of real events and places. This is very similar to documentary filmmaking which is very similar to news reporting, actuality footage will be shown during the news to back up the report, the footage shown will make the audience feel in a certain way.Slide11

Documentary Formats

There are various different documentary formats.

Exposit documentaries: documentaries that speak directly to the viewer, using the voice of God is it is referred to.

Reflexive Documentaries: these are documentaries which represent something wither in a positive or negative light.Participatory documentaries: these are documentaries that are aware that the presence of the crew and camera affects the people being filmed, therefore it doesn’t give a honest representation of events. The presenter will usually be filmed ion these documentaries.Slide12

Observational Documentaries: These are documentaries which just capture everyday life without getting involved.

Interactive Documentaries: This is a documentary which will have viewers interact with the use of multimedia tools.

Per formative Documentaries: These are very subjective documentaries, they are usually very personal to the maker and, the makers strong beliefs will be reflected in the productSlide13

Dramatization

This is whenever the producer of the factual programme wants to make the documentary a lot more exciting.

Certain scenes may be filmed that are staged, they will be representations of certain times and events like a war that took place that the documentary is about.Slide14

Narrativisation

This is whenever the documentary has been structured similar to a fictional film with a beginning, middle and end. Slide15

Realism

Realism in documentaries have real footage from events and scenes that are relevant to the subject that the documentary is based upon.
