An Ecological Problem
In the Southern Californian city of Perris, there have been numerous accounts of coyote sitings. The presence of these animals continues to alarm residents, as coyotes have reportedly wondered onto residential streets, up driveways, and even made their way near elementary schools.
Several concerned residents have voiced their desire to have these animals removed, using any means necessary which includes injuring or even killing them.Slide4
Parents, teachers, and other community members are urging city officials to take action in order to protect our homes and keep our schools safe.Slide5
Call to Action:
An Ecological Solution
You have learned how each organism in an ecosystem has a vital role in maintaining balance in its habitat. You also feel that harming defenseless animals that are simply seeking food is cruel and unjust.
In order to stop the coyotes from being harmed, you must research and determine alternative methods to solve this issue. Write a letter to the mayor of Perris, convincing him to consider your stance for a more palatable solution.
