ALLUDE [v] to hint at or suggestMs. Paris’ alluded that if the students were good there could be a pizza party in their future.

DELUDE [v] to deceive or to trick

ILLUSION [n] something that is wrongly interpreted by the senses. Mark was traveling in the hot sun and was very thirsty. He thought he saw a lake, but it was just an illusion .

COLLUDE [v] to work together for bad reasons Ronald and Dante colluded over night about cheating on the exam. They developed a series of coughs that would represent the multiple choice answers.

LUDICROUS [ adj] s o foolish or out of place as to be amusing; ridiculous Mitch’s hair was so ludicrous , no one could take him seriously. I don’t know why he thought it was a good look.

ACQUIRE [v] If you acquire something, you obtain it or gain it. Ms . Paris acquired fifty new novels for her students.

COMPILE [v] If you compile something you collect information and put it together. Ms . Paris compiled a list of all of the books she’s read.
