A . signficant. part of how we interpret abnormal . behaviour. is how we talk about it and describe the symptoms. If the researchers rely on translation/interpretation, then there may be errors. This is why a process called "back translation" is often used - that is, the translation into the language of researcher is then translated back to the language of the participant/patient by a different interpreter to establish the credibility of the translation.
