1 The definition of Practitioner and Indus
The definition of Practitioner and Industry Partner are for the sole purpose of evaluating submitted abstracts for selection and presentation at the SMRP Annual Conference. Practitioner methodologies in order maintain and improve performance of their company’s assets. Practitioners typically work for:  Companies that manufacture goods or manufacturing, mining, utilities, etc.)  Companies that provide services excluding suppliers and consultants (e.g. contract maintenance, service industries)  Government agencies such as the US Postal Servic  Companies that supply food and/or food intermediates for the general public  Companies that supply medicine and/or medical products for the general public Industry Partners (non - practitioner ) An Industry Partner i n SMRP is a person who provides tools, materials, methods, training and consulting to Practitioners in the fields of maintenance and reliability to help the Practitioner maintain and improve the performance of their company’s assets. Industry Partners typ ically work for:  Equipment Suppliers (thermographic, alignment, vibration, acoustical, repair parts, etc…)  Consultants  Training providers  Companies that provide testing services, both on and off site  Predictive Maintenance Contractor and Service Providers  Companies may employ both Practitioners and Industry Partners. The distinction is dependent on the employee’s role within the organization as defined above.
