reflections
- A
regular high
school
with an
artsy name.
- Unsure how to integrate arts and design into core classes while still covering content.- Encore was the ‘default school’ if a student did not feel like they fit in anywhere else.- Therefore, passion for the arts was lacking.
- Many students talented in the arts and design.
- Expose every student in Encore to Performance Art, Visual Art, and Communications.
- Direct students to select a strand and focus on it toward post-secondary education.Slide3

Goals of encore pathways
New graduation requirements, beginning with this year’s
freshmen, are designed to prepare students for college and/or careers.
Realistic options for ALL students that incorporate the original mission and vision of Encore Academy. Variety in pathways allows students to succeed based on individual passions, strengths, and abilities.
All students will choose a pathway in 9th grade. Electives and foundational classes throughout the 9th and 10th grade years will prepare students for choosing a focused pathway in 11th and 12th grade.Slide5
