If you need to confirm, cancel or change this appointment date and time, please call the Central Scheduling Department toll free 1-855-466-1111. If you choose to pre-register on-line, go to www.sghs.org. On-line registration must be completed at least 48 hours before a scheduled appointment. EXAM ORDERED: Nuclear Medicine HIDA Scan LOCATION: Brunswick Campus, Parkwood entrance 2415 Parkwood Drive, Brunswick GA 31523 Please park on the Parkwood entrance side of the hospital. Take the elevator up to the 2nd floor of the Brunswick Building and check in at the Guest Services desk. PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS Exam Preparation: Eat a fat-free supper (no dairy products) in the evening prior to exam. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight. Do not eat or drink anything on the morning of the exam. The patient will be given an intravenous (IV) injection of a radiopharmaceutical. The injection does not contain iodine or contrast media (x-ray dye). The imaging portion of the exam will last for approximately 60-90 minutes. The patient may not eat or drink anything until the exam has been completed. If patient is on the following medications, please refrain from taking the medication the number of hours stated below: Morphine (4hrs) Demerol (4hrs) Oxycontin (4Hrs) Fentanyl / Duragesic (4hrs) Loritab (4hrs) by mouth Dilaudid (6hrs) IV Lipids / TPN do not interfere with this study.
