October 25, 2013. Salary Increases/Furloughs. Superintendent has taken cuts as well. Because of the charter amendment, Supt. . o. ffice has seen a 25% cut.. There will be a pay increase next year (1-2%) because it was an election year. (Superintendent is running for Governor…He needs our vote!). 7.19.2013 DK. STATEMENT. PROBLEM 7.19.2013. GENTLEMEN. , WE THANK YOU FOR ANSWERING OUR CALL FOR HELP!. . SEVEN PEOPLE WERE WORKING SATURDAY ON DAY SHIFT SO SOME VENTILATION WORK COULD BE TAKEN CARE OF AT OUR MINE. ONE OF THE WIVES OF THESE MEN CALLED THE SUPERINTENDENT LATE SATURDAY NIGHT AND TOLD HIM SHE HAD CALLED THE MINE EARLIER IN THE DAY BECAUSE SHE NEEDED SOMEONE TO LET HER HUSBAND KNOW HIS MOTHER HAD BEEN PUT INTO THE HOSPITAL WITH CHEST PAIN. THE WIFE TOLD THE SUPERINTENDENT SEVERAL HOURS PASSED AND WHEN HER HUSBAND DID NOT COME TO THE HOSPITAL SHE CALLED THE MINE AGAIN AND NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE. THE SUPERINTENDENT CALLED THE MINE FOREMAN, WHO TOLD THE SUPERINTENDENT THE MEN SHOULD HAVE FINISHED EARLIER IN THE DAY AND ALREADY BE HOME. AFTER TALKING TO THE SUPERINTENDENT, THE MINE FOREMAN CALLED THE MINE OFFICE AND THE SECURITY PERSON ANSWERED. THE MINE FOREMAN ASKED THE SECURITY PERSON WHAT TIME THE PEOPLE HAD LEFT THE MINE. THE SECURITY PERSON TOLD THE MINE FOREMAN WHEN HE GOT TO THE MINE, THE GATE WAS LOCKED, VEHICLES WERE STILL THERE AND NO ONE WAS OUTSIDE. THE MINE FOREMAN ASKED THE SECURITY PERSON TO TRY GETTING IN TOUCH WITH SOMEONE UNDERGROUND ON THE MINE PAGER. AFTER WAITING 20 MINUTES FOR SOMEONE TO ANSWER THE SECURITY PERSON, THE MINE FOREMAN CAME TO THE MINE. WHEN THE MINE FOREMAN ENTERED THE MINE HIS DETECTOR IMMEDIATELY WENT OFF INDICATING METHANE AND CARBON MONOXIDE. WHEN HE CHECKED THE FAN THE FAN DOORS WERE OPEN AND HE REALIZED SOMETHING HAD HAPPENED UNDERGROUND. THE MINE FOREMAN IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE AGENCIES.. CORRESPONDENCE.
