Our new Packed Lunch Menu… Why? If a child is not having a hot school dinner with us they will be bringing in a packed lunch from home so to help improve our uptake we need to offer a appealing packed lunch Our packed lunch is more nutritious than packed lunches brought in from home with many home made packed lunches being packed with unhealthy, sugary products Packed lunches are simple to offer operationally but can have a big impact upon your school meal uptake How? From September all schools must offer the new packed lunch menu as shown over the next few slides – we will be producing a report to highlight which school are offering the menu on a weekly basis Speak to your client/head teacher and ensure they are aware of the new packed lunch offer and the benefit of offering the menu to pupils To promote the packed lunch offer you can order packed lunch posters and slips from MyDesign Ensure you order new menus from MyDesign which advertise the new packed lunch menu Speak to parents at the school gate and ensure they are offer of our new packed lunch offer

How does the packed lunch menu work? This is not a stand-alone menu and should be offered as an additional line on the hot lunch menu A child should be offered and choose either a ham sandwich or cheese sandwich or the daily special Each child should have a veg side portion included in their packed lunch  A child should be offered and choose either fruit of the day or dessert of the day A child should be offered and choose either tap water or bottled water or orange juice mixed with water or apple juice mixed with water
