Goal

Migrant high schoolseniors need to meetminimum standards toobtain their highschool diploma.Slide4

Who is a migrant?

A student may be considered migrant if either the parent or guardian, or the child or the child’s spouse, have been employed within the past 3 years in some form of temporary, seasonal or agricultural - related work.Due to the nature of this type of employment, the migrant student loses valuable instructional time.As a result, students are not meeting the minimum standards for graduation. Slide5

When?

The students will access the instruction during senior year at their high schools.Slide6

Where?

The learner will use the instruction in a class specifically meant for the learner. Currently, different school districts have different programs and/or classes for migrant students but none are specific for migrant seniors. Donna HS offers a class for all migrants, regardless of grade level, named Migrant Education Options (MEO).Slide7
