DIAP Guidelines

The Guidelines were developed through a series of workshops and consultation with agencies, people with disability and other stakeholders

Critical to successful implementation are:

buy-in from agency executive

building ongoing engagement mechanisms with people with disability across the range of employees, customers, clients, students, inmates, passengers etc.

Practical achievable actions

A workshop series was undertaken with agencies to support planning – these focus on engagement, employment, whole of government actions, monitoring and reporting.

DIAPs & Local Government

Local government has a critical role to play in inclusive planning

Local Government have until July 2017 to develop their Disability Inclusion Plan to align with their broader community planning framework requirements.

The Local government guidelines support the local government planning process

LG NSW and FACS are identifying ways to support councils to develop these plans.

Resource sharing, local collaboration, coordinating consultations etc.
