Today we will acquire and use academic vocabulary Increasing our use of vocabulary will increase our comprehension and writing skills. Objective Rationale Acquire and use accurately grade-appropriate general academic and domain-specific words and phrases; gather vocabulary knowledge when considering a word or phrase important to comprehension or expression. (7.L.6) Engage effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one-on-one, in groups, and teacher-led) with diverse partners on grade 7 topics, texts, and issues, building on others’ ideas and expressing their own clearly . ( 7.SL.6) Write routinely over extended time frames (time for research, reflection, and revision) and shorter time frames (a single sitting or a day or two) for a range of discipline-specific tasks, purposes, and audiences. (7.W.10)

Impartial (adj ) Not favoring one side more than another; fair If you want to be an umpire, you’ll need to be impartial.

Industrious ( adj ) Hard-working; not lazyAnts are an extremely industrious insect.
