Participants will be able to compare & contrast how 1 institutional extended orientation program has evolved over a decade’s journey.Participants will be able to apply 2 key elements of Schlossberg’s Transition Theory (1995) and Astin’s Student Involvement Theory (1985) to anextended orientation program.

Participants will be able to describe the needs

of their extended orientation programs.

What is IMPACT?

Infusing Multiculturalism Pride Awareness Connections Training

IMPACT Freshmen Leadership Retreat at the University of Central Missouri is a 3 day extended orientation retreat for first year incoming students.

Developed with the goal of attempting to combine Leadership and Student Involvement into one central focus
