The world's best Roselle comes from the Sudan, Roselle is also used in ready to serve food and beverage manufacturers, The swollen calyces are the plant part of commercial interest. As the flowers fall off, the bright red calyces swell. These are harvested by hand, dried, and sold whole into the herbal tea and beverage industry. The flavor is a combination of sweet and tart, similar to cranberry.
